What’s New? A Second Interview With Author Chicki Brown

Since we last met… Have you published new novels or short stories? Tell us about them! Chicki: Ain’t Too Proud to Beg Hollywood film star Vaughn Breland has wrecked his beloved Lamborghini, lost his latest movie role, the use of his legs and possibly his fabulous good looks. He’s depressed and mad at the world then he meets Trenyce Clark, his new physical therapist. Trenyce, and her beautiful three-year-old daughter, give him a new outlook on life. You Make Me Feel Brand New (novelette) One year ago, personal chef Jan Davis signed her divorce papers after a miserable twenty-five-year marriage. She is single again, and romantic attention is as foreign to her as ancient Carthaginian cuisine. When she meets her new client, sports management agent Mac Sinclair, who is eleven years younger, Jan...

Author Interview: Marla A. Madison

About Marla A. Madison Year first published: 2011 Number of books and short stories currently published: 3 suspense novels. Bio: I’m a retired mediator and now work part-time as an arbitrator. I started writing after I retired and only became serious about it when I joined a critique group of local authors. I discovered that I’m not the kind of person who can just kick back and live the quiet life, I need to have a goal, and writing has given me one. The ultimate goal, of course, is to sell a lot of books by becoming a good writer. Like any skill, writing takes work and practice, so I try to write at least two pages a day. I can see I’m improving with each new work, and that’s a great feeling. Writing, publishing, and marketing are difficult but excellent for keeping that brain active and ...

Bookworm and Author Kate LeDonne Interview

"I encourage writers to make it about the work, and doing your best work. Detach. It's not about you. It's about the work. Let go and see what happens. You can always change your mind and put things back in."

Supernatural Author Micheal Rivers Interview

Last time IndieBookWeek.com checked in with you, Micheal, you were working on Verliege plus six other new manuscripts. Six! Which of those books have been published? Have you ventured into any new writing territory since then? First, let me congratulate you on your new site! Verliege and Appalachia Mountain Folklore were released. Thanks to the readers, I am proud to say Verliege was voted 2012 Supernatural Book of the Year by Turning the Pages. The other books are still in the works and coming along nicely. I have one that is out of my genre and is based on an actual person. Needless to say names and places have been substituted to protect him and any others involved in his ventures. I think the readers will find it very interesting. How have your social media habits evolved or changed ov...

The interview series with authors in my Twitter community continues with Collette Scott. Happy reading! Website: www.collettescott.com Twitter: @ColletteScott Q: What is your genre? Why did you choose it? CS: I write a mixture of women’s fiction/romance. All of my novels are thematic in that my heroines face very real situations with strength and courage and along the way tend to find love and support. Q: How many books have you published? Legacy published, self-published, or a combination? CS: I have recently self-published my third novel, If We Dare to Dream. Q: Tell us more about your December Blogathon featuring three bloggers and 30 authors — WOW! CS: When I first published Forever Sunshine last April, I was lucky enough to meet fellow author, Patti Roberts. She is an innovative...

Author Interview: Michael R. Hicks

Michael R. Hicks. Author, RVer, and wearer of FiveFinger shoes. Website:   AuthorMichaelHicks.com Twitter:    @KreelanWarrior What is your genre? MH: With my first book, IN HER NAME, I started out in what could best be described as science fiction with a heavy dose of high fantasy and a bit of romance mixed in, or maybe it’s futuristic romance with sci-fi/fantasy elements. That’s the kicker: it’s a bit hard to stick in a particular category. There are currently six books in the series, plus two trilogy collections (one of which will be published soon), and there’ll be more coming down the pike. SEASON OF THE HARVEST is a sci-fi thriller, and my next book, which I’ve tentatively titled LEAP INTO HELL (although that may change) is a historical romance set in Wor...
